Earth Arts and Midtown South Community Council, (MSCC) will collaboratively steward the Paradise Hill Farm Project, to cultivate nourishing organic foods that will be distributed to various shelters in NYC, serving people most in need. In order to supplement Paradise Hill’s food donations to MSCC, Earth Arts will also work to organize a network of food redistribution for wholesale & donation through its farmer’s cooperative network, EAT, Catskill. EAT will work to create a system of wholesale distribution for its farmer members, and also invite farmers to donate their excess produce through MSCC’s shelter network. EAT and MSCC will track farmer donations and provide farmers with a tax benefit letter at the end of the fiscal year. We hope that co-creating a viable network of wholesale distribution for farmers to sell their goods in the city, will also encourage them to donate more produce to MSCC’s redistribution efforts.
